The life of a work from home mom is not exactly what I would call glamorous.
It’s fulfilling, and crazy, and busy, and sometimes boring. It’s also a lifestyle that is often misinterpreted and highly debated (just ask the internet).
I took a day in my life as a work from home mom and took a picture every hour to explore some of those emotions and intricacies.
It ended up being an introspective exercise that took a lot longer than I had anticipated to write about. While it sounds like a perfect solution to the “to work or not to work” debate…working from home definitely has its high and low points. We were at the park. There was a playground, a large field, basketball courts, and a skate park.
The girls should have been running around, playing, and laughing right?
My girls were sitting in the shade of a tree, feet from me, pretending to watch TV.
Pretending. To watch. TV.
Let that sink in for a minute. Continue reading “Ashley Does: The Lost Art Of Play”
It’s Working Parent’s Day.
I know this day is probably supposed to be for parents who work outside the home.
I was that parent for the first 2 years of my oldest daughter’s life. It’s a hard road to walk down. Knowing that someone else witnessed your child’s first steps, or first words, or an injury, or a victory…it’s hard. I have nothing but respect and compassion for parents who work outside the home. Y’all deserve all the props and paid vacation in the world.
This post is geared toward parents who work from home, but I think every working parent will find value here!

I am an extroverted introvert.
I know, it sounds ridiculous. I didn’t even know it was a real thing until the internet told me it was – so obviously it’s true.
I love to talk to people…once I know them a little.
I love going to social events…once I’m out of the house.
I enjoy helping people and giving advice and being a confidant…if someone asks me for help or advice.
My girl time is invaluable…but I also need my alone time.
A LOT of it.
This has made my journey in sales….interesting. Slow. Uncomfortable.
And so, so rewarding! Continue reading “Ashley Does: What I want you to know about how I do business”
I have 3 daughters.
My life is full of girly things: pink, purple, princesses, puppies, unicorns, accessories, makeup, and all things that smell nice.
I am officially becoming a girly girl who loves pretty things.
Who saw that one coming? (Let me tell you: not my mom!) Continue reading “Ashley Does: Pretty Things”
You get an invite to a girls’ night in. Margarita Monday.
Sounds fun, right? I could totally go for some girl time and margaritas!
Then, you see it. A logo. A brand. A consultant’s name. A website.
Oh Lordy, not another boring direct sales party! If I have to go listen to a sales rep hard sell me on her product, business opportunity, or hostess perks for an hour, I will never recover. I better just tell my friend, who I’d love to hang out with, that I can’t come so I don’t have to sit through that torture and then feel bad that I don’t buy anything.
Guys, do you see what’s wrong with this picture?
